This work confronts the reality of Black boys’ childhood in a context where the absence of a father figure is common and family structures are formed outside the model of family traditionally presented as the norm.
The series traces the artist’s personal trajectory through photographs from his personal archive and texts written on a typewriter that once belonged to his father. While narrating an intimate experience, the work also echoes the collective reality of many young Brazilians.
