In 2022, Gleyson Borges participated in the Festival LambesGoia, in Goiânia. The exhibition marked the first show by Lambes Brasil and brought together more than 20 paste up artists from different regions of Brazil, through a curatorial approach committed to social, racial, and gender issues.
The exhibition took place at the Vila Cultural Cora Coralina, one of the city’s main cultural venues, affirming paste up as a powerful, democratic artistic language deeply connected to urban space.
Gleyson Borges participated with the work Ruby, an intervention based on the painting The Problem We All Live With, by Norman Rockwell, which portrays the emblematic scene of Ruby Bridges on her way to a school that had previously been exclusively for white children.
In different versions of the work, Ruby carries books connected to Black thought and empowerment. For this exhibition, the intervention features the book Quem tem medo do feminismo negro? (Who's Afraid of Black Feminism?), by Djamila Ribeiro, establishing a dialogue between historical memory, education, and the contemporary anti-racist struggle.
